CLOSE! Liverpool need to be careful here!

It’s another chance for the hosts – with Osimhen nearly unmarked as he rises to meet Jakobs’ cross – but he puts the header wide!

The hosts really have their tails up now, with Yilmaz unable to make the most of an Osimhen through ball.

GOAL! The hosts are ahead!

It all comes from a corner, Osimhen heading the ball back towards goal and Mario Lemina arriving unmarked to head past Mamardashvili!

The first meaningful Galatasaray attack sees Konate caught out on the wing. Lang is in behind the defence but he sees his cross put behind for a corner.

Liverpool have been totally dominant so far, though Noa Lang does well to finally keep a bit of possession for the hosts after they’d given it away cheaply yet again.

CLOSE! A great early chance for Liverpool!

Wirtz will probably feel he should have scored there.

It all stems from a loose pass from the defender and Wirtz latches onto it. He spots the ‘keeper off his line and tries to place an effort from distance, but it goes wide!

A quick start from Liverpool on the front foot, though a chance goes begging when Salah can’t keep it in.
