Aston Villa and Everton are both interested in signing Jack Grealish on loan, talkSPORT understands.
It was reported on Wednesday that Sunderland had made a bid to sign Grealish, however, City sources have denied any official approach from Sunderland for the player.

With the England international in the final year of his City contract, he would effectively be saying goodbye to the club should he secure a loan switch this summer.
Grealish has featured twice this season for City, coming on in the second half in the Community Shield against Arsenal as well as in the club’s Premier League opener against Bournemouth.
Prior to the season starting, the forward was given the No. 18 shirt at City in a sign he may have a future at the club.
He had previously worn No. 10, but that number now belongs to Rayan Cherki.
New City boss Enzo Maresca has previously suggested that Grealish could play a role at City this season but hasn’t ruled out a move for the player either.
“He is here and it is my duty to coach Jack and to try to get the best,” Maresca said of Grealish after their 2-1 win over the Cherries last weekend.
“Then it is one more week to go and we will see what happens. Not only with Jack but also other players.”
Jack Grealish’s tricky spell
Grealish spent the 2025/26 campaign on loan with Everton and began brightly, registering four assists in his first three league appearances for the Toffees.
However, his time on Merseyside was brought to an early end when he was forced to undergo surgery on a stress fracture in his foot.
In total, Grealish registered two goals and six assists in 22 appearances for the Toffees.

Return to boyhood club?
The other club in contention to sign Grealish on a temporary basis is the team he left to join City for in Villa.
Grealish first joined Villa’s academy at the age of six and broke into the first team as an 18-year-old in 2013.
The 30-year-old became a regular fixture in their starting XI from the 2014/15 season, playing a key role in their run to the FA Cup final.
The following campaign was a disaster for Villa as they were relegated from the top flight, finishing bottom of the league.
It took three years of Championship football before the Villans bounced back to the Premier League, but Grealish stuck by them throughout – although he nearly joined Tottenham in 2018.
After starring for Villa in the top flight once again and establishing himself in the England squad, the bigger clubs came calling for Grealish.

Having been linked with moves to Manchester United, Grealish opted to join City in the summer of 2021 for £100million which was then a record transfer for a British player.
Grealish has won a plethora of trophies in his six years at City, including a Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League treble in the 2022/23 season.
However, he often found himself out of the first team, leading to a loan spell at Everton last term.
Grealish has 39 caps for England to his name, scoring four times. He represented the Three Lions at Euro 2020 and 2022 World Cup.
At Villa, Grealish won the club’s Player of the Season award on two occasions.
Earlier this summer, talkSPORT host and Villa icon Gabby Agbonlahor tipped the Englishman for a return to his boyhood club, insisting the club’s supporters would welcome him back with open arms.
