Manchester City have announced the return of James Trafford, agreeing on a five year contract.

Manchester City have confirmed the return of James Trafford, who arrives from Burnley on a deal that keeps him at the club until 2030.

After remaining with the Sky Blues for eight years and being loaned out to other clubs during then, Trafford joined Burnley, where he made 73 appearances.

He now makes his way back over to Manchester City, after finding his feet with Burnley and impressing his former employees, he will now be aiming to implant his name with a big impression and become a staple player for the Cityzens.

The 22 year old goalkeeper has signed on just in time for the upcoming Premier League season, which will get underway in the next few weeks. Manchester City will be hoping to return to the top of the league and in the process of that, have brought in their former young keeper.

While it currenlty looks as Ederson will stay as their first choice, Trafford could be in with a good chance if he performs well consistently when given the opportunity.

James spoke about joining Manchester City, expressing his delight and desire as the news came to light.

“Throughout it I always believed I would be coming back and when I left on loan when I was 18 or when I left for Burnley when I was 20. I always believed that one day I would be back and I worked hard to achieve this moment.”

“I always believed that I’d play for Manchester City and I knew the only person that could do that is me. Now, I’ve got this moment, I’ve just got to keep going.”

“To come back here, I’m happy that I’ve achieved it. They’re (Manchester City) obviously one of the best teams in the world. The most successful team over the last 10 years and yeah it’s something I’m really excited for.”

“I’m exicted to see everyone. I’m exicted and just can’t wait to get to work wiith all the lads and just improve myself.”
