David Raya has started 2026/27 where he left off last season, while three new signings feature among the top 10 Premier League goalkeepers.
The Arsenal stopper was hugely influential in the Gunners’ Premier League coronation last term and he has been an important figure during the start of the defence of their title.
He tops the Gradient Sports Premier League goalkeeper rankings for 2026/27.
A quick explainer: Gradient’s dynamic player rankings combine two key indicators: Overall Grade and Impact Score. In this case, the Overall Grade indicates how well a player executes the skills most important for goalkeepers; Impact Score tells us how frequently the goalkeeper delivers the important outcomes.
With that in mind, here is the ranking of Premier League goalkeepers in 2026/27 with a minimum of three appearances…
1) David Raya (Arsenal)
Grade: 82.6 (2nd overall in Premier League)
Impact Score: 6.9 (1st overall in Premier League)
Last season’s highest-ranking goalkeeper, primarily because of his Premier League-high Impact Score, continues in a similar vein. One of the few Gunners not culpable in the 3-0 defeat at Brighton and made important saves against Leeds, Forest and Everton before Arsenal edged those games.
2) Djordje Petrovic (Bournemouth)
Grade: 83.7 (1st)
Impact Score: 6.0 (17th)
The Bournemouth keeper has the Premier League’s second-highest shot-stopping grade – his reflex save to deny Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite is one of the ‘big-time saves’ in the league so far this season – and was excellent once again as the Cherries beat Manchester United 3-0.
3) Zion Suzuki (Aston Villa)
Grade: 80.5 (4th)
Impact Score: 6.3 (7th)
Villa fans have been impressed with their new recruit and the rest of the us are catching on too. Suzuki looks like he’s got it all, ranking between third and seventh in all the key keeper grades.
4) Senne Lammens (Manchester United)
Grade: 80.6 (3rd)
Impact Score: 5.8 (24th)
Lammens remains high despite messy goals conceded against Fulham and Spurs. The Belgian had come in for criticism, with the most clueless among United’s online fanbase suggesting it was time to give Karl Darlow a run. People are weird.
5) Bart Verbruggen (Brighton)
Grade: 75.2 (6th)
Impact Score: 6.7 (3rd)
Verbruggen climbed into the top 10 on the back of his highest grade of the season so far in the win at Sunderland before easily his lowest against Palace, perhaps due to a lack of activity. But he was busy against Liverpool and not culpable in the 2-0 defeat.
6) Emiliano Martinez (Chelsea)
Grade: 76.7 (5th)
Impact Score: 6.1 (13th)
The third-best shot-stopper in the Premier League and he was sorely missed by Chelsea against Tottenham.
7) Lukas Hornicek (Newcastle United)
Grade: 73.6 (7th)
Impact Score: 6.1 (12th)
The Newcastle new boy was back in the top 10 after his highest grade of the season in the defeat to Villa since the opening weekend, and then he improved once again as Newcastle beat Crystal Palace.
8) Dean Henderson (Crystal Palace)
Grade: 72.4 (8th)
Impact Score: 5.9 (21st)
Henderson was among the busiest keepers prior to his injury. But despite sitting out the last four games, the England stopper has conceded five of what Gradient consider ‘saveable’ goals – a joint Premier League high.
9) Bernd Leno (Fulham)
Grade: 69.1 (9th)
Impact Score: 6.3 (8th)
The Fulham stopper climbed while recording his two highest match grades of the season so far in the draw with Man Utd and the late defeat at Ipswich before clean sheets against Hull and Coventry City.
10) Caoimhin Kelleher (Brentford)
Grade: 66.5 (12th)
Impact Score: 6.2 (11th)
Did Liverpool make a mistake in selling Kelleher? The Irishman’s grade is better than Alisson’s (keep scrolling, Liverpool fans) and his shot-positioning grade is the best in the league.
11) Konstantinos Tzolakis (Hull City)
Grade: 52.5 (23rd)
Impact Score: 6.7 (2nd)
12) Matz Sels (Nottingham Forest)
Grade: 63.8 (13th) Impact Score: 6.0 (20th)
13) James Trafford (Leeds United)
Grade: 59.7 (18th) Impact Score: 6.5 (4th)
14) Antonin Kinsky (Tottenham Hotspur)
Grade: 62.3 (14th) Impact Score: 6.3 (9th)
15) Jordan Pickford (Everton)
Grade: 60.8 (16th) Impact Score: 6.4 (6th)
16) Alisson (Liverpool)
Grade: 60.5 (17th) Impact Score: 6.4 (5th)
17) Walter Benitez (Crystal Palace)
Grade: 61.6 (15th) Impact Score: 6.0 (18th)
18) Gianluigi Donnarumma (Manchester City)
Grade: 58.3 (19th) Impact Score: 6.3 (10th)
19) Carl Rushworth (Coventry City)
Grade: 49.3 (22nd) Impact Score: 6.1 (15th)
20) Robin Roefs (Sunderland)
Grade: 54.1 (20th) Impact Score: 6.1 (16th)
21) Kjell Scherpen (Ipswich Town)
Grade: 50.2 (21st) Impact Score: 5.9 (20th)
22) Christian Walton (Ipswich Town)
Grade: 52.5 (17th) Impact Score: 5.9 (19th)
