Man City see Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson as their replacement for Rodri, according to reports.
TalkSPORT claim that the Cityzens are expected to “step up” their interest in the England international this summer.
However, any bid for Anderson still hinges on Rodri’s future, and whether the Spanish international decides to sign a new contract.
His current deal expires at the end of next season, and City may be forced into selling him over the coming months if an extension is not agreed upon.
Will Rodri commit his future to Man City?

Rodri has been linked with a return to Spain, with La Liga giants Real Madrid reportedly prioritising a move for him ahead of the summer transfer window.
At the moment, there is no indication as to whether the 29-year-old is open to leaving the Etihad after seven years. He made the switch from Atletico Madrid for £62.6m in July 2019.
What is the situation with Anderson?
TalkSPORT report that Forest would demand “more than double” the £35m they paid Newcastle for the player in the summer of 2024, but many other sources have reported that the actual asking price is close to £100m.
Anderson has been described as an “elite player” by his national team manager, Thomas Tuchel, and his ability was on display on Wednesday night when he scored the equaliser against City during a 2-2 draw.
The 23-year-old has many other suitors, although it is believed Manchester United and Liverpool are the two teams likeliest to challenge Pep Guardiola’s side for the midfielder.
