Preamble
Hello and welcome to another Matchday live! We have another big day of fixtures for you after yesterday’s excitement – Manchester City winning the FA Cup, Celtic taking home the Scottish Premiership and Manchester City lifting the Women’s Super League trophy.
Today, we turn our attention to the bottom of the Premier League table. Newcastle play West Ham this evening. Nuno Espírito Santo’s side would move out of the drop zone with a win, piling the pressure on their London rivals Tottenham before their game against Chelsea in midweek.
On the topic of Chelsea, the club have reached an agreement in principle to appoint Xabi Alonso as their new head coach. Stick with us for the latest updates and news from around the football world. Send me an email with your thoughts.
